Time to post another set of instructions from our Block of the Month! This month is June’s block, the X-Plus block!

This block has been one of my favourites to construct! Perfect for using scraps!
Take a look at our Pinterest board to see quilts made from this block:

At our November meeting, Jane issued our 2015 Christmas Challenge!
Some fabrics were provided, but don’t worry if you weren’t able to attend the meeting! It will be easy to participate!
Three circles were provided to members cut out of assorted Christmas themed fabrics. Their diameters were 5 inches, 3 inches and 2 inches. Didn’t get any fabric from the meeting? No problem! Just measure some of the objects around your home to use for a template.

Your challenge is to use at least two different sizes of the circles to create any sort of Christmas themed project.
Some ideas include a tree skirt, stocking, mug rug, mini quilt, large quilt, ornament and a table centrepiece.
How about a Santa ornament?

I’ve been scouring Pinterest for our branch to create a board to inspire you!

Find our challenge board here.
Good Luck!
We are very sad to hear of the passing of Rita Kelly.
Rita lived in Kerry and with her small group and was a regular visitor to our branch.
She was bright and gregarious, and everyone who met her enjoyed her strong sense of humour.
She will be sadly missed in the Quilting community of Ireland.
For the Block of the Month!

The Snail Trail directions are available by downloading the tutorial here.
The block is pretty in two colours as pictured above, but especially fun in four colours, like this block:

Remember you can find inspiration using snail trail quilt blocks on our Pinterest Page here.
Happy sewing!
October is traditionally our open meeting, and in order to get the word out, we’d love it if you could post our information poster in billboards in your community!

Thank you for helping to get the word out!
