June 9th recap

Our meeting this month was smaller than usual as who could blame anyone for not wanting to be indoors with the fantastic weather.

Firstly, Congratulations to Sheila Devereux as her Quilt has been picked to represent Ireland at the Festival of Quilts in Bermingham! Well done!

Our shop was Moya with Patchwork Plus and our guest speaker was Artist Mary Murphy from Carrigaline, a lady who can turn her hand to anything! She gave a fantastic presentation about her beginnings and her work to date. We are hoping to have her do a workshop in the future as so many were interested. Watch this space!

Look her up on: http://www.marymurphy.weebly.com

We also had Ruth Burke our Executive chair giving a Demonstration on navigating the website and utilizing the information it provides for us as members.

We presented our outgoing representative, Joanna Harrington with a standard Rose. She has been a fantastic representative and Committee member, always ready to help out with anything that should arise with a cool, calm and collected head! And ❤.

Heidi Wischniewski’s workshop for September was filled on the day with a waiting list. I’m pretty sure we might be able to organize another one if Heidi can accommodate us!

Our Summer Challenge is “Wild Atlantic Way” . No restrictions, any size, color, shape!

Our next meeting will be Saturday 15th.

The Limerick Quilt Centre will be our shop and Mary Palmer will be our guest speaker.

Also, those doing the workshop, don’t forget to be gathering your bits and pieces and trimmings for the workshop!

Enjoy your Summer,

Hope to see you in September, Assumpta

May 12th recap

We were delighted to have about 18 members of the South Midlands Branch come visit us this month. It was Fantastic to see so many come and a few of the Ladies stayed for Nicki Foley’s workshop after the meeting while the rest went into town shopping. I hope that they enjoyed their day out!

The Sewing Shed with Nicki Foley was our Shop on the day with a fabulous selection as usual.

Our Speaker was Ann O’Rafferty and she was fantastic! Her Appliqué work is second to none and we were all inspired by her work and amount of Quilts she produced on the day.

They treated us with a Fantastic Show and Tell, introduced by Eileen Shortis their Chair. We then had our own and all fantastic as usual.
