June meeting
This coming Saturday, June 12, we will be holding our June branch meeting, starting at 10AM. The link to the meeting has been sent to our members by email.
This will be a “Sit and Chat” meeting, to catch up with each other and have a get-together before we have a break over the summer.
While we will not be having a meeting in the coming months, we hope you will keep sewing. To encourage everyone we are setting you a challenge. Our members will be receiving a small surprise in the post, and we hope that you all will be inspired to make something with it. In the hope that we will be able to see your makes in person, we have set the finish time for this challenge for our November meeting.
As we are almost at the end of our patchwork year, I also would like to say thank you to all the members who have stayed with us and tried to make the best of a year (and more) of meeting online and sharing your quilting with us via photos. You have been brilliant!
We hope to see you all at our meeting this Saturday at 10AM, so grab a drink, find your meeting link email and connect with us!
April meeting
We will have our April meeting this Saturday, the link has been emailed to our members. Check your email inbox…
We are very happy to say we have secured a speaker for our meeting! Judith Hollies is a very experienced quilter, making quilts and smaller items. She often uses repurposed fabrics in her sewing.
We hope that you will all attend, it would be good to have many people showing we appreciate a visitor!!
On another note, we are looking for members to help out in the committee. It isn’t much work and the current committee members are staying, but we could do with some extra pairs of hands! Please seriously consider if it could be your turn to give your support to the branch in this way.
We hope we will see you all there! We start at 10.30, with our speaker scheduled for 11.00.
February meeting
As usual, our meeting will take place on the second Saturday of the month, the 13th of February.
A link will be emailed shortly before. Our speaker will be Tracy Watson from the Mid-Western branch.
We hope to see you al there!
January meeting
Sorry for the late post! Tomorrow morning we will meet via zoom, start time 10.30 am. Catch up with each other, share what you have been working on over the Christmas break, and starting off the new year…
A link has been emailed to members.

Christmas meeting
Get ready for the start of the festive period, because our Christmas meeting is coming up. The committee (the three of us) are preparing a morning with some fun and games, and generally good cheer.
So find your Santa hat, or Christmas jumper (or just your friendly face), get the mince pie(s) ready and join us! We have a slightly later start so you may even feel able to pour yourself some mulled wine or a Christmas sherry…!
If you can, please get a Christmas make (any Christmas make) out of the cupboard or off the wall, so you may be able to show it on the day. And if you have any photos of a project, please email them to us IN ADVANCE. We will be putting together a Show & Tell for during the meeting.
We will have a recap here afterwards, too…
DETAILS
When: Saturday 12 December 11:00 AM
What: Meet each other; Christmas makes; Show & Tell; Quiz/Game…
We hope to see you all!!!
November online meeting
This Saturday 14 November we will meet online via Zoom.
We will start from 10.30 – bring your own coffee/tea and cakes!
At 11.00 Nikki Foley is giving us a demo for Christmas table mats. There will be plenty opportunity to show us your project, too.
So say hello to your quilt friends, and join us.
If you haven’t received the link, contact us by email (or leave a comment below).
If you have a photo of any of your recent makes, please send them by email so they can be included in the Show & Tell post.
Also, please remember to renew your membership! Contact us if you have trouble doing so…

October branch meeting
Hello everyone,
This Saturday will be our monthly meeting, and since we cannot meet in person we are organising an online version via Zoom:
The meeting link will open from 10:30
Shop: Nicky Foley will give us a tour of her Sewing Shed
Talk: Mary Palmer
Chat: say hello to each other.
Zoom is very easy to use, and can be used from a computer/laptop, tablet or smartphone.
If you haven’t used it before it is worth a try. We have sent an email with the link to the meeting to our members, if you haven’t received it, please contact us. We can also resend links to some helpful video tutorials on using Zoom if you didn’t get them…
If you want to share any quilts with us, please email your photos in advance of the meeting so we can add them to the web post.
We hope to have a great turnout for Saturday!
Meeting September
We are unable to meet in person this Saturday, 12 September. Instead we are having a virtual meeting from 10.30 – 12.00. Please contact us in advance at corkips[at]gmail.com for the details (or leave a comment here).
And don’t forget to send us photos of your makes for our show and tell. We’ll try to share photos at the online meeting as well as in a (by now usual) post here on the blog.
Photos wanted for July
I hope you are all enjoying your summer, even though the weather is not all that hot and sunny…!
Although we normally wouldn’t have a meeting in July, I have decided to put a virtual Show & Tell on our website this month if I receive some photos from our members. Next Saturday is the second of the month, so I am aiming to make the post for that day.
If you have any photos of your quilt-related activities, please send them to me in the next few days. Alternatively, if you have been doing other crafts, or if you want to share anything else, send it on and I will share it with you all.
Email your contributions to our usual email address (leave a comment if you need help).
